Video Lesson: Accent-Diddles: Part 1

Here’s a teaser for a book of Paradiddle-based exercises I’ve been working on. The only thing holding me back’s the fact that I CAN’T PLAY THE EXERCISES YET. Here’s where I’m at with the first one.

You play a regular-old paradiddle, with an accent on the first beat of the sticking. Rlrr Lrll. Then you shift the whole paradiddle, accent and all, back one 16th note. Then again, and again. Alternate leading hand on the big repeat and you’ve got the whole exercise. Easy, right? Pshhh!
