Video Lesson: Accent-Diddles: Part 3

Here’s the third exercise from a book of Paradiddle-based exercises I’ve been working on. This one’s a little easier than the first two, but to do it correctly you’ve got to keep your accents high and inner notes low.

The concept is the next step after the second exercise. Play an accent on both singles of the paradiddle sticking (RLRR LRLL) and then shift the whole pattern back one 16th note to change the phrasing. Switch to left hand lead on the repeat.
